Globalization and Sri Lanka

The concept of everyone becoming a universal family...🌎🌐

It is a well known fact that globalization has become an important topic in today's world. Globalization means that the whole world joins the Internet and becomes a close family. Today all the countries of the world are connected to each other through satellite technology. In fact, the countries of the world today can do nothing in secret. The result of globalization is that one country has the ability to know what's happening in another country. You know how many websites there are on the Internet. Anyone can access these websites through the internet using their computer Most of the newspapers printed in our country have been uploaded to the internet. As a result, people in any part of the world can read these newspapers on their computers, and anyone can react to the news contained in those newspapers.

Because of the ability to connect to the Internet via computer, we have the ability to get many good results, and we have the ability to receive many foreign TV programs because of this Internet facility. The Olympic Games, considered to be the world's greatest sporting event, can now be viewed at home. The whole world has become a universal family because it has the potential to be viewed by the whole world. This internet facility has also enabled the whole world to watch our culturally valuable Kandy Perahera.

Today the countries of the world are free from isolation due to this globalization. But some say that globalization has threatened the very identity of a country. Some say that Sri Lanka cannot escape the Western pursuit of globalization. Some point out that this also causes culture values to collapse. The main factor that reflects our local identity is our language, that is, we see that even our mother tongue, Sinhala, is being globalized today. We can also see that the West is imitating the clothing and food used in today's society.

Economic globalization is the process by which technology, services, and capital move freely across all states. We can see the good and the bad of globalization. Sri Lanka cannot stay out of globalization, whether it has good or bad results. However, we should all work together to protect the local identity and institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Buddhasasana should take the lead in this regard. It is the responsibility of the country's authorities to be vigilant about the possible adverse effects of globalization with the advancement of science and technology.
